An evening to remember, God bless this city, God bless the whole symphony, and God bless Mr. Darko Butorac, whom I've gotten to see as conductor since my age was in the single digits. This was my first time seeing George Frideric Handel's Messiah. It's said that King George II was so moved by the Hallelujah chorus he got to his feet, and as he stood the audience rose as well. This is practiced by all audiences today, a tradition. We got to stand twice, as there was an encore! It was a delight, every minute of it. A pure delight.
